PrestaShop Checkout V5: New Features and How to Migrate

This new version enhances performance, adds more intelligent bug detection, and enables automatic package tracking in PayPal.

With package tracking, you can now save hours of manual work and reduce disputes by automatically synchronizing your orders and shipping statuses with PayPal for orders paid via PayPal. All major carriers (Colissimo, DPD, Chronopost...) are compatible with this feature.

Find the tracking number

You can always find the tracking number of an order in your PayPal dashboard and in your PrestaShop back office if you access the associated order.

How to update your module to version 5 and obtain package tracking?

 From your back office: go to Modules, then Module Manager, and click on Update.

 Or download the .zip file from the PrestaShop Marketplace and upload it.

Package tracking is enabled by default and will not appear in your back office; there is nothing to configure on your end.

The V5 of Checkout is available for PrestaShop versions starting from 1.7.

For optimal performance, we recommend that you upgrade your PrestaShop Account module to version 7 or higher.
